Thank you for your support of the Lehigh Valley STEAM Academy Charter School! Despite the fact that the Allentown School District has denied our application, we are in the process of appealing because we really believe this school is valuable here.

We are in the process of resubmitting our application so that we may get authorized to open the Lehigh Valley STEAM Academy Charter School for the 2024-2025 school year. Stay tuned for more information as we go through the process.

Sincerely,
Dr. Carol Lopez

Why Us?

Challenge & encourage with STEAM education

STEAM Education is an acronym that refers to education in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics disciplines. We add the “A” for Arts instruction to ensure a multi-disciplinary, integrated curriculum focused on a well-rounded education for all our students.

Benefits of a STEAM education

What is STEAM? STEAM is described “…as an educational approach to learning. It uses Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics as access points for guiding student inquiry, dialogue, and critical thinking. It extends STEM, which previously did not include the arts.

“A STEAM-based program integrates learning and teaching….It applies math, science, and technology content to solve real-world problems through hands-on learning activities and creative design.”

Our Vision

Education for a bright future

At Lehigh Valley STEAM Academy Charter School, we believe STEAM is much more than subject matter; it’s a process of guiding students through distinct levels of research, planning, creation, and reflection that are intentionally integrated with arts instruction to increase student engagement, creative thinking, and innovation.

Our STEAM curriculum and the well-rounded program provide a strong foundation and prepare students to excel in and out of the classroom.
